Eucharistic Crusade Gathering

A gathering was held on Saturday, March 16 for all the members of the Eucharistic Crusade at St. Mary's, as well as for those who intend to join this year. Mrs. Lori Payne began the meeting by giving news and information, handing out the new Hostias, commending the members’ efforts, and hinting at a surprise planned for the Crusaders over the summer. Her most important message, though, was to exhort the Crusaders to fill out and turn in their monthly treasure sheets to their teachers or to the switchboard - since currently only 45 of the 200 enlisted members are doing so. After a snack and some games, Fr. Stafki - the Eucharistic Crusade Chaplain in St. Mary's - gave a conference to the boys and then to the girls. “The Church is hurting”, he said; but he told them that the children can do more than they might think. By simply offering up all their actions to God through their Morning Offering, and by performing the small acts on their treasure sheets, they can help the Church in the fight for what is good and true. Another meeting will be held soon - watch the bulletin for updates!
