Polymnia Performs at the Kansas Music Educators Association Workshop

SMA's select women's choir, Polymnia, performed on February 22 at the Kansas Music Educators Association state in-service workshop. After a competitive audition process last year, the KMEA judging panel chose Polymnia as one of only 7 high school choirs from the state to present an exhibition performance at the convention. The 36-voice choir sang a 30-minute concert including eight songs composed from the 16th century up through 2018 in languages including English, Latin, French, and Spanish. Many parents, teachers, and members of the St. Mary's community made the trip to Wichita to support Polymnia from the audience. Mrs. Childs and the singers are grateful to have had this opportunity to share our music with the music educators of the state, and for the encouragement and help received along the way.
