A rainy Wednesday morning kicked off one of the biggest and most important events of the school year: the annual Spring Fundraiser. The message, spread to the crowds of children by means of coloring pages, encouragement from Uncle Cletus and Aunt Annabelle, and an original song performed by Fr. Kopec, Fr. Franks, and many of the students was this: St. Mary’s Academy is raising money this year to benefit its teachers and to build new classrooms. Each of the almost 900 students in the school needs to do his part by selling raffle tickets for a $25,000 cash grand prize, and five $1,000 cash prizes, which will be drawn on Friday, May 24th. The first rally is on Friday, March 29 - Students achieving certain ticket sales levels by March 27 will be eligible for small incentive prizes at this rally.
